3 Easy Ways To Get More TPT Freebies For Your Classroom

The are many ways to get more TPT freebies for your classroom

Are you looking for a way to get more TPT freebies for your class?  Chances are that you already are spending hundreds of dollars (if not more) out of your pocket each year to fund your classroom and supplement your curriculum.  So if you can save some money by taking advantage of the ways you can get Teachers Pay Teachers free resources, then go for it!  Regardless if you are planning out those first few weeks of the semester, or you are deep in the school year, you can’t go wrong with free. As my teacher friend David always says, “if it’s free, I’ll take three!”  So here are 3 easy ways to get more TPT freebies for your classroom.

Search For Teachers Pay Teachers Free Resources

Let’s start with the low-hanging fruit.  The first way that most of us find free Teachers Pay Teachers worksheets and activities is by simply using the price filter that TPT offers when we search for a resource.  To begin with you simply need to enter the item that you are looking for.  In fact, you can start typing the term and TPT will give your options.

For example, if you are looking for resources for lab safety, begin by typing “lab s” and TPT will give you options for lab safety, lab safety activities, lab safety worksheets, lab safety posters, and so on.  Once you choose the term that best fits your needs, TPT will give you all the results for your search.  You can then click on the “price” drop down filter and click FREE to receive only those listings that are FREE.

This may seem overly simplistic but here’s a little insider tip as from someone who sells their resources on TPT.  TPT sellers generally are going to offer many of their best activities as TPT freebies.  The reason is because we always try to lead with value and if we give you an amazing activity (notes, worksheet, quiz, etc) for free, then you are more likely to buy from us in the future.  I turned one of my best sellers, my TED Talk worksheet on GRIT that accomies the Angela Duckworth presentation into a TPT freebie. True story.

Growing Bundles Will Give You Teachers Pay Teachers Free Resources

Have you ever purchased a bundle from Teachers Pay Teachers?  If not, you are missing out on some big savings.  Generally sellers will bundle resources for a discount of 10-30%.  And the more expensive the resource, the bigger the savings.

I get it.  We are all trying to get more out of each dollar.  Especially when there is a TPT sale and most sellers are offering a 25% discount at checkout.  So buying a bundle during a Teachers Pay Teachers sale is like stacking discounts.  But it can get even better.  And that’s when you buy a growing bundle.

If you have shopped on TPT before you have probably seen sellers market their resources in a growing bundle, but maybe you aren’t sure why they are such an amazing value.  When you buy a growing bundle you are paying now to get all future resources that will be added to the bundle for free.  Not all sellers will offer growing bundles, but many do.

Get more for your money with TPT growing bundles

I actually package almost all of my resources into different growing bundles as a way to always give more in value than I take in payment.  I am always making new resources and when I add to a bundle, I can set a notice to be sent to buyers letting them know there are new resources they can download for free.  Giving more TPT freebies is just my way of saying thank you for purchasing for my store.

Get Credits For Teachers Pay Teachers Free Resources

Did you know that Teachers Pay Teachers will give you credits that you can use on future purchases in return for leaving a review on products you’ve already purchased?  When you leave a review on a paid purchase (you can leave reviews also on Free products, but you won’t earn credits from the reviews) you will receive a credit for every dollar spent on that product.  So you would receive 5 credits for leaving a review on a $5 item.  Each credit will then earn you 5 cents on future purchases.  While this doesn’t seem like a lot, chances are you have spent quite a bit on TPT over the years.  Those credits can add up in a hurry and turn into more teachers pay teachers free resources for your classroom.

To get the tpt credits you first need to click on the “My Purchases” link.  It should be in the upper right hand corner under your TPT profile.  That will take you to the “My Purchases And Downloads” page.  Switch the filer in the upper right of the page from “Paid + Free” to “Paid Purchases” and the page should automatically refresh.  Leave a review for the seller and click submit.  You can then go to the link for the  “Account Balance” page  under your TPT profile and you can see the credits you have received.  As a seller, this feedback helps me improve my resources and also gives future buyers some insight into the products.  It’s definitely a win-win!

Final Thoughts…

Hopefully these 3 tips will help you get more TPT freebies and resources for your class without putting a strain on your budget.  As teachers we are always looking for ways to help our students succeed and getting free teachers pay teachers worksheets and activities can help improve student understanding and make school a better experience for kids.
